Check out ʻUmi Toys Hawaiʻi for a virtual art show of work celebrating Lei Day by local Hawaii artists and artists with Hawaii ties! I’m very grateful to have submitted an original watercolor piece to the show, and be joined by so many talented artists!
ʻUmi Toys Hawaiʻi presents:
Lei Day
A Virtual Art Show
May 1-31, 2020
Show opening online 9AM HST
Friday, May 1, 2020 at www.umitoyshawaii.com “May Day is Lei Day in Hawaiʻi … Indeed, its sole purpose is to engage in random acts of kindness and sharing, and to celebrate the Aloha spirit, that intangible, but palpable, essence which best exemplified by the hospitality and inclusiveness exhibited by the Native Hawaiians – Hawaiʻi’s indigenous peoples – to all people of goodwill.”
-Senator Daniel Kahikina Akaka (May 1, 2001)
Over 30 artists were invited to create original art pieces with Lei Day as the theme and what it means to them. With the stay at home orders affecting our communities, we thought it would be a great opportunity for everyone to get their minds off of quarantine things while providing the artists an outlet to create affordable art for the public.
Artists in this show include: @aea4m, @meowzia_, @daawgo, @antidee, @dev.vision, @edwinushiro, @giantrobot, @spaceshipflow, @jacksoren, @jdsworks, @naturenurturegoods, @jonjmurakami, @kahiau_art, @jahjahjitsu, @kehaunoeau, @kookookchoo, Known Omen, @olboy_melon, @missbehayv, @okaa_san, @pufftronic, @reckonshop, @riskitdesign, @shapesmithe, @solomonenos, @stanstill , @tonk_hawaii, and @woes
