Zines are DIY publications that can be about ANYTHING! Popularized by fan communities, zines have always been a way for creators, especially marginalized folx, to get their ideas out into the world. And yes, the Marauders basically made a zine to sneak out of school and sass people. Zine icons. In this workshop, organizers of the Pikes Peak Zine Fest will guide you on a zine-tastic journey, sharing lots of examples and teaching the basics of folding a mini-zine. We’ll brainstorm ideas and use a lot of scissors and tape and markers and magazine clippings to turn your idea into a finished, swappable zine.
