I’m not Indigenous, but I’m so grateful to have been invited to participate as a vendor in Áya Con Denver! I can’t wait to support the local Indigenous community!

Stop by table 107 to say hi and get some free zines (2 of which are about Hawai‘i)!
Beyond the vendor market there will be a wide range of other events including a fashion show (which need additional tickets) on Sunday night.
Masks are not required, but encouraged (especially if you are feeling off).

Show Hours:

  • Friday: 4pm - 7pm

  • Saturday: 10am - 6pm

  • Sunday: 10am - 5pm

Growing up in Hawai‘i, I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from Kānaka Maoli culture. I especially admire the ancient Hawaiian peoples’ observations & respect for nature, the way they lived their lives by these observations, and took care of such a special place.
Hawai‘i’s vibrancy, flora, & fauna has always been an influence in my work, and in future, I hope to make more zines around some of my personal experiences,
as well as raise more awareness on some of the issues in Hawai‘i
    (in relation to colonialism/gentrification/tourism).
Ethnically, I’m East Asian (Japanese/Korean/Okinawan) and am not Hawaiian, but Hawai‘i is the closest thing to an ancestral home that I know. Being so far away on the mainland, and with my family’s generations-long history there, it’s one of my goals to better learn and understand the history of Hawai‘i (and other Indigenous folx) to better support Her land, Her people, and Her future!
